Love that spooky-scrapey-metal-revolving-thing sound.

Sorry, I meant to say more than that. The tension builds so nicely here. And when the thunder comes in at 3:30 or so, it's just exactly perfect. Beautiful cactus music.

That guitar stuff at the beginning is awesome. So unsettling and offkilter, playing with expectations over and over. I like the shifting voices on the synth, I almost don't understand what's going on. I hear a bottle-blowing sort of sound, and some vocal sounding soundness in it, too.

That intrusive, heavy deep piano arpeggio is great. And where the percussion stuff kicks in around 3:50 or something, that whole section is great. I like the dynamics here. I think this is one of your best. Clapping

I can see a scene in like "Kill Bill" or something with the camera panning over the desert. Now the camera's on the freeway following a Convertible Car (probably stolen) down a long stretch of highway, the blonde driving has her hair thrashing in the wind... Ooooh, now she's heading into the city streets, turning corners. Yikes! Watch out girl! Bicycle She's comin' to her destination..slowly... she lights a cig Smoking and the camera pans to a close-up of her face and then to her feet as you see her Cowgirl boots take a step out of the car...

Oh dang, the songs over!! Sigh

....SLOW PAN..upwards past her dirty boots , torn jeans , that belt with the 2 dirty harry style 11 inch 44-mags,STILL PANING UP,To her peirced belly button "focusing on" skull&crossbone and small drops of sweat..."still paning up" till you see her face...as she blows out the smoke from the cig she just lit-up,she checks her amunation..and tosses her smoke into the air and shoots the smoke, spreading tabbaco & hot ash, like dust into the wind......and shuts the 1968 camaro door with a soft kick...slowly walking....

GREAT FREAKING TRACK MAN!!!

Definitely a very visual track. Filled with desolation....like being alone on a tropical island under an amazing star-filled sky....or abandoned in the heart of a big city filled with strangers. This also reminds me of some of the more obscure tracks that Robert Smith did early on with The Cure. Cool

I remember when I last heard this song, I was with a few of my friends, we were all slightly high, and were in the forest where I grew up, I pulled th futon out of the back of my car and they all layed down, but I wanted my home dirt, they all scoffed at me fo being anti-social, but I just wanted to lay down and see the sky that created me, laying in the ground that was my crib. this has that same comfort and independence, the freedom coming from that guitar line, all-encompassing and yet completely unrelated. and the comfort comes from that synth sound, it's a tender noise.

This is awesome. It's kind of weird, I heard Van's version first so it's very interesting to hear what it ws like before he did anything. I like what he did, but this has an entirely different mood, it's much more laid back, and it's cool in its own right. Great job!

THis is really a kickass track..great underscore here..nice melodic start to this and a great buildup to a powerful middle..nice changeups. As i hear this i hear a story developing or rather unfolding as each segment brings a new character in..Very nice job
